I can't stand these modern translations, frankly. All the poetry goes out
of it. The proper version doesn't have all that apocryphal introductory
stuff and reads:

1. And, lo, the clay became tall and was wrought unto minerals.
2. And the daughters of the Illites and the Smectites did marry the sons of
the tribe of the Chlorites, and they did publish it at the mountain where
speaks the LORD in fire.
3. And the tribe of Uriah the Actinolite moved among them, and great was the
abundance thereof.
4. And a mighty laumontation arose from the Illites and the Chlorites and
also the Albites of the White Land
5. Great was the wailing of their cementation; even unto the sands and the
mountains of fire.

But you never hear that version any more. I blame the teachers.
