Marjorie Clarke, on Archers Addiction...
It's normal for those who have become dependent on TA. You've got to
understand that TA has recently been reclassified as a Class B Programme,
and listening to it may lead to an official caution by the police, or even
confiscation of your gear (so don't take that walkman to listen to it in the
park). It's advised that you should only listen to it in the privacy of your
own home, and ideally only in the company of other addicts.
There are those who maintain that TA is the "gateway" programme and that it
leads to addiction to hard soaps such as EastEnders and Coronation Street.
Umrats know this is rubbish, but we should warn you that there is a danger
of a related addiction, known as umra-dependency. In fact, umra can
eventually replace TA for the user, rather as methodone can replace heroin,
although concurrent use is widespread.
But no, don't seek help, just enjoy!
