ANTIGONE, THE MUSICAL (with thanks to The Classics Pages
<http://www.users.globalnet.co.uk/~loxias/antigone.htm>)

King Creon decrees that Polynices the traitor is not to be buried (Bob
Dylan - Like a Rolling Stone),

but his sister Antigone defies the order (The Hollies - He ain't
heavy, he's my Brother).

She is caught (Sherbet - Howzat),

and sentenced by Creon to be buried alive (The Jam - Going
Underground)

- even though she is betrothed to his son Haemon (Richard Thompson -
Nobody's Wedding).

After the blind prophet Tiresias proves that the gods are on
Antigone's side (Ray Charles - This Little Girl of Mine),

Creon changes his mind - but too late (Queen - It's Late).

He goes first to bury Polynices (Status Quo - Down, Down, Deeper on
Down),

but Antigone has already hanged herself (The Stranglers - "Hanging
Around").

When Creon arrives at the tomb, Haemon attacks him and then kills
himself (Cat Stevens - Father and Son).

When the news of their death is reported (ELO - Here is the News),

Creon's wife Eurydice takes her own life (Johnny Mandel - Suicide is
Painless).

Creon is alone (Eric Carmen - All by Myself).
